Description
Thomas fans have been wondering how the engines are alive for a long time and a lot of fans have made their own theories, like Paul Vids who made a theory about humans being bio-fused into trains in his fan movie "Shed 17."
But my theory is that in early 19th century London, sinkholes where forming and an investigation was launched to find out why. And they discovered an alien like meteor underground made of flexible grey metal and green crystals and took samples of it. After 20 studies they find out that the green crystals and flexible metal can bring machines to life. So they try this on several trains and discover that the green crystals allow the engines to move on their own, but they would need a driver to keep them under control and a fireman to shovel coal into the engines firebox to feed the fire. After a while they managed to build one successfully and they engine was Stephenson's rocket AKA Stephen. Soon after they use this on other vehicles and over time, more and more vehicles where brought to life.
